Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Risk Prevention Intern

Aibatin, Cotonou 6-month internship

Mission

As part of the development of its expertise, consulting, auditing and skills-provision offer, IFECARM GROUP invites you to take part in concrete activities to identify, assess and control occupational health, safety and environmental risks for client companies. Under the supervision of your manager, and in strict compliance with safety instructions and the limits set by your supervisor, you will build your skills in identifying, assessing and controlling occupational health, safety and environmental risks within IFECARM GROUP and at its clients, with guided support to help you progress step by step.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying hazards and at-risk work situations
  • Assessing occupational health and safety risks and prioritising action
  • Identifying environmental aspects and analysing their impacts
  • Drafting and updating occupational health, safety and environmental risk registers
  • Proposing suitable prevention and control measures
  • Taking part in HSE inspections, diagnostics and audits
  • Analysing incidents and non-conformities and proposing corrective actions
  • Designing HSE procedures, monitoring tools and indicators
  • Contributing to staff awareness and emergency preparedness
  • Applying the principles of the ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards

Education

Final-year training in QHSE, HSE, occupational health and safety, environment, risk prevention or an equivalent field, Bachelor’s degree level

Professional experience

Prior field experience, an internship or introductory exposure to HSE activities is an advantage but not required

Hard skills

Basic knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessmentFamiliarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is desirableBasic proficiency with Word, Excel and digital tools
