In a nutshell

What this course aims to achieve

Master the skills needed to drive digital resilience in financial entities and ensure compliance with DORA

Five days to steer a financial entity’s digital resilience under the European DORA regulation: ICT risk, incidents, testing and providers.

Key challenges

  • DORA targets financial entities and their ICT providers: determining who is covered and for what is the first task.
  • Contracts with critical providers must be reviewed, which needs leverage the entity does not always have.
  • Resilience testing needs resources and scenarios few entities already have.

Learning objectives

  • Place DORA’s scope and pillars.
  • Organise ICT risk management.
  • Structure incident management, classification and notification.
  • Frame ICT providers and plan resilience tests.

Detailed programme

  1. 1Context and scope of DORA.
  2. 2Governance and ICT risk management.
  3. 3Incident management, classification and notification.
  4. 4Digital operational resilience testing.
  5. 5Third-party provider risk management.
  6. 6Information sharing and compliance plan.

Target audience

  • Security, risk, compliance managers and IT directors of financial institutions

Prerequisites

  • Notions of cybersecurity and risk; scheme conditions to be checked before enrolment.

Learning methods

Training with financial-entity case studies.

Learning assessment

Certification exam under the scheme concerned.

Scope of application

The European texts cited (GDPR, NIS 2, DORA) do not apply automatically outside the European Union: their scope for an organisation based in Benin or elsewhere, and equivalent local texts, must be checked. Any associated personal certification (lead auditor, lead implementer, manager…) depends on the exam and certification body: the course prepares for it without guaranteeing it. It does not certify the organisation, whose certification belongs to an accredited body.
