In a nutshell

What this course aims to achieve

Training: getting familiar with occupational health and safety

Two days of orientation in occupational health and safety for someone who has to take it on without coming from the field: the obligations, risk assessment, the internal and external parties, and where to start.

Key challenges

  • Occupational health and safety is almost always discovered through documentary compliance, when what matters is what people actually do at their workstations.
  • There are many parties — employer, managers, employee representatives, occupational health service, inspectorate — and each has a role the others misattribute.
  • Someone newly in charge inherits a backlog of actions and no criteria for deciding where to start.

Learning objectives

  • Set out the employer's obligations in occupational health and safety
  • Identify the internal and external parties and their respective roles
  • Understand the risk assessment process and how it is documented
  • Recognise the main families of occupational risk
  • Prioritise the first actions to take in one's own establishment

Detailed programme

  2. 2Those involved: managers, employee representatives, occupational health service, authorities
