ISO 14001 · EnvironmentReducing environmental impact and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Why this standard matters
ISO 14001 governs an organisation’s environmental management system: identifying its impacts (resource consumption, discharges, waste, pollution), regulatory control and continuous improvement of environmental performance. It applies to any organisation seeking to reduce its footprint, but becomes essential for sites subject to classified-facility (ICPE) regulations or for SEVESO sites, where environmental control is closely monitored by the authorities. In Benin as in France, investors and international contracting parties increasingly demand formalised environmental guarantees before engaging with an industrial partner. The ISO 14001 approach requires moving away from reactive environmental management (dealing with incidents) towards proactive management (anticipating them). IFECARM GROUP supports companies, particularly those operating in the environment and waste sector, in structuring this system, from the initial assessment through to preparation for the third-party audit.
