What this course aims to achieve

Master the rules for classifying, labelling and packaging chemical substances and mixtures under the CLP regulation

Two days to classify, label and package substances and mixtures under the CLP regulation, in line with the Globally Harmonised System.

A mixture’s classification is calculated from its components: an input data error carries through to the label and safety data sheet.
CLP is an EU text whose rules differ from GHS implementation in other countries.

1GHS principles, scope, hazard classes and categories.
2Pictograms, signal word, hazard statements, precautionary statements and supplier information.
3SDS structure and section reading.
4Consistency between label, SDS, use and storage.
5Document control, communication and updating.

Guided reading, information-finding exercises and application cases.

Questionnaire and label/SDS interpretation exercise.

The GHS is a United Nations harmonised framework; applicable obligations depend on national implementation, jurisdiction and the product concerned.
