What this course aims to achieve

Application of the APSAD R7 standard and the NF S61-970 standard

Five days to design a fire detection system: risk analysis, detector choice, positioning, wiring and commissioning.

Key challenges

Positioning depends on room geometry and airflows: a well-chosen but wrongly placed detector will not detect.
False alarms often come from design (wrong type, wrong place) more than equipment.
Detection must stay consistent with building changes.
