In a nutshell

What this course aims to achieve

Training suited to in-house emergency responders (ESI) and company firefighters, particularly in the chemical industry

Five days for the team member at a site where both a fire and a hazardous product spill can occur: equipment, tactics and decisions.

The product determines the response: water, foam, absorbents or withdrawal may be right or dangerous depending on it.
A leak can become a fire and vice versa: tactics must adapt during response.
Protective suits and breathing apparatus add physical strain and limit communication.

In-house emergency response team members (ESI) and staff designated for this role.

Physical fitness and, depending on the module, validation of a prior level — to be checked before enrolment.

In-person training, practical simulations on a training ground.

Assessed practical simulation.

The equipment and organisation level of in-house response teams depends on the risks, site, sector and locally applicable requirements.
