Rescue people trapped at height or in a tank

Two days to discover industrial rescue: assessing the situation, protecting oneself, using first techniques.

Key challenges

  • A rescuer’s first reflex is to rush in: the classic cause of a second casualty.
  • Confined spaces, heights, hazardous atmospheres: each environment needs its own protection.

Learning objectives

  • Use extinguishing and protective equipment suited to the situation.
  • Apply intervention procedures safely for oneself and the team.

Target audience

  • In-house emergency response team members (ESI) and staff designated for this role.

Prerequisites

  • Physical fitness and, depending on the module, validation of a prior level — to be checked before enrolment.

In-person training, practical simulations on a training ground.

Assessed practical simulation.

Scope of application

The equipment and organisation level of in-house response teams depends on the risks, site, sector and locally applicable requirements.
