What this course aims to achieve

Master the implementation and management of an Information Security Management System (ISMS)

Five days to implement and run an information security management system compliant with ISO/IEC 27001, from scoping to continual improvement.

Key challenges

Information security is not installed by technology alone: management, business units and users must stand behind the system.
Scope and the statement of applicability commit the organisation: too broad, the project stalls; too narrow, it reassures nobody.
A system that exists only for certification loses its value once the audit is over.

Frame an implementation project: context, scope, governance.
Carry out risk assessment and select security controls.
Organise documentation, awareness, indicators and internal audit.
Prepare for the related certification exam.

Basic information security knowledge; certification scheme conditions to be checked before enrolment.

Certification exam under the scheme concerned.

Scope of application

Any associated personal certification (lead auditor, lead implementer, manager…) depends on the exam and certification body: the course prepares for it without guaranteeing it. It does not certify the organisation, whose certification belongs to an accredited body.
