Ten days to master the fire safety regulations applying to public-access buildings, from general principles to provisions by type of establishment.

Key challenges

The regulations are layered: general provisions, particular provisions by type, exceptions. A type error leads to applying the wrong rules.
Each provision has its own safety logic: understanding it lets you argue for a derogation or compensatory measure.
In the field, the operator must maintain compliance over time despite fit-outs and changes of activity.

Scope of application

The regulation taught is the French fire safety regulation for public-access buildings. The course awards no title and does not replace the safety commission’s opinion. The regulatory framework described is French; obligations applicable in Benin or another country differ and must be checked with the local authority or operator.
