What this course aims to achieve

Contribute to preparing ICPE files, the internal emergency plan (POI) and the fire defence plan (content and methodology), and understand the principles of modelling

Two and a half days to contribute to ICPE file documents: content of the internal emergency plan, the fire defence plan and modelling principles.

Key challenges

Safety documents (POI, fire defence plan) are written separately although they must be consistent with the hazard study.
Modelling gives effect distances: their assumptions must be understood to discuss them with a consultancy.

Learning objectives

Place the documents of an ICPE file and how they fit together.
Contribute to drawing up an internal emergency plan and a fire defence plan.
Understand the principles of the modelling used.
Review documents produced by a third party.

Prerequisites

General knowledge of the ICPE regime recommended.

Scope of application

The course helps contribute to the file; it does not make the person a qualified hazard study author. The regulatory framework described is that of France and the European Union; texts applicable in Benin or another country differ and must be checked with the local authority or operator.
