  1. 1Public-access and high-rise building regulations: classification, general and specific provisions.
  2. 2Civil and criminal law concepts applied to fire safety responsibility.
  3. 3Managing the service: staffing, rosters, recruitment and training.
  4. 4Service budget, maintenance contracts and inspection follow-up.
  5. 5Reading drawings and analysing structural provisions.
  6. 6Safety commissions: preparation, proceedings and follow-up.

  • Fire safety team leaders moving up to head a service
  • Safety managers of public-access buildings

Prerequisites

  • Hold SSIAP 2 with the required experience, or an equivalent-level qualification provided for by the framework.
  • Medical fitness and up-to-date first aid training.

Learning methods

A long pathway alternating regulatory input, drawing studies, group work and management scenarios.

Learning assessment

Final examination before a panel: written test, a drawing-based case study and an oral defence.

Scope of application

The course follows the French SSIAP framework. The service manager's obligations and building classifications must be related to the regulations of the country of practice.
