What this course aims to achieve

Master the methodology for producing an ICPE hazard study (EDD), from identifying hazardous phenomena to demonstrating risk control

The study must show that risks are controlled, not just describe them: each measure retained must be justified.
Scenario selection determines everything; omitting one loses the whole study’s credibility.
Scoring on probability, severity and kinetics: expert judgements hard to make reproducible.

Basic technical knowledge of processes; ICPE notions useful.

Case study on scenario building and scoring.

Scope of application

The course prepares to understand and contribute to the hazard study; it does not replace a study by a competent body where regulation requires it. The regulatory framework described is that of France and the European Union; texts applicable in Benin or another country differ and must be checked with the local authority or operator.
