The construction sector accounts for a disproportionate share of serious and fatal workplace accidents, both in Benin and in France: falls from height, site machinery, ground collapses, electrical hazards and poorly managed coactivity between trades. Every worksite is a temporary, evolving environment, which makes prevention harder than on a fixed industrial site. Project owners and contracting authorities now expect a solid general coordination plan, a health and safety plan for every contractor, and full traceability of authorisations (work at height, machinery, electrical).
