Two days for field staff: understanding the threat, spotting suspicious behaviour and knowing how to react in a violent situation.

Key challenges

  • Under surprise, shock is the most common reaction: reflexes learned beforehand are what allow action.
  • Spotting suspicious behaviour without falling into profiling or constant suspicion.
  • Staff must know the site’s instructions (alert, shelter, evacuation) before needing them.

  • Detect precursor signs and unusual behaviour.
  • Apply survival and alert reflexes suited to the site.
