What this course aims to achieve

Know how to carry out a technical lightning-protection study and determine the appropriate protection zones and equipment

Two days to carry out a technical lightning protection study: protection zones, lightning rods, surge protectors, equipotential bonding.

Protection is twofold: against direct strikes (external) and surges (internal). Treating one without the other leaves a risk.
A badly chosen or badly wired surge protector does not perform.

Understand or perform the targeted role (risk analysis, technical study, installation, operation).

1Lightning phenomenon, effects and applicable regulatory and standards framework.
2Practical application of the targeted standard according to the course’s aim.

In-person training, technical input and case study.

Case study or practical exercise depending on the course’s aim.

Lightning-protection obligations and applicable technical standards (notably NF EN standards) depend on the activity, site and country concerned.
