Acquire the skills needed to take up a health and safety manager role and implement a prevention approach

Eight days for a health and safety manager taking up their role: obligations, prevention tools and running an action plan.

Key challenges

The new manager must become credible fast, with management and the shop floor, in a role often poorly defined.
Priorities abound: past accidents, upcoming inspections, training, contractors. They must be ranked.
Effectiveness depends less on documents than on supervisors’ buy-in.

Learning objectives

Place own responsibilities and those of the employer and supervisors.
Draw up a status review of the site’s prevention.
Run risk assessment and build a prioritised action plan.
Run prevention: induction, training, visits, accident analysis.
Report to management with indicators.

Scope of application

This course builds skills; it awards no regulated title and does not replace the employer’s formal designation of a competent employee. The regulatory framework described is that of France and the European Union; texts applicable in Benin or another country differ and must be checked with the local authority or operator.
