E-waste is rising fast across Africa. IFECARM GROUP is hosting a free webinar on the classification, treatment, traceability, valorization and public policy of e-waste (DEEE/DES), on September 4, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:30 PM GMT+1, online.

A growing challenge for Africa
Electrical and electronic waste is rising across Africa. IFECARM GROUP invites you to a free webinar on e-waste (DEEE/DES), from classification through to treatment, with a focus on traceability, valorization and public policy.
Webinar theme
“From Waste Classification to Treatment: Mastering the Management Chain and Challenges of E-Waste (DEEE/DES) in Africa.”
Key question
What public policies are needed to build a high-performing e-waste sector in Africa?
Webinar objectives
This webinar aims to help participants understand, structure and improve the e-waste management chain in Africa through three areas: the regulatory framework, operational management, and challenges and outlook.
Regulatory framework: identify and codify waste according to its nature and hazard level, understand the principles for classifying hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and identify the ICPE categories affected by production, storage and treatment activities.
Operational management: set up effective waste management at the producer’s site, understand the roles and responsibilities of each actor, and master waste traceability mechanisms.
Challenges and outlook: discover the specific features of e-waste management in Africa, the economic opportunities linked to recycling and valorization, and the levers for a lasting ecosystem.
Expected outcomes
By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to better understand the regulatory framework and governance, clarify the chain of actors and responsibilities, strengthen traceability, recycling and valorization, and identify investment, innovation and partnership opportunities.
