What this course aims to achieve

Update your environmental auditor skills to audit a management system under ISO 14001

Two days for an already certified auditor, centred on what ISO 14001 requires and other standards do not: the environmental review, the life cycle perspective, environmental legal compliance, and control over the impacts of activities the organisation does not itself carry out.

Key challenges

  • The significant environmental aspect is the pivot of the whole audit: if it has been wrongly determined, the rest of the system is coherent but beside the point.
  • The life cycle perspective forces the auditor to look beyond the site boundary, without auditing the suppliers: the line is poorly understood and poorly audited.
  • Environmental regulatory monitoring is dense and local. An auditor who checks it against a list of texts without verifying the permits applicable to the site misses the essentials.
