In a nutshell

What this course aims to achieve

Apply a comprehensive ERM360-type risk approach

Two days to produce a risk map using a whole-organisation approach, from framing the scope through to a prioritised matrix and its treatment plan. Participants work on their own organisation.

Key challenges

  • A map built in a workshop with managers alone misses the risks only operational staff see, in particular dependency on a single person or a single supplier.
  • Improvised scoring scales produce matrices that cannot be compared from one year to the next: the map is then unable to show any progress.
  • A public body and a company do not share the same major risks or the same levers: transposing a matrix from one world to the other produces a document detached from reality.

Scope of application

The approach draws on the ISO 31000 guidelines, which are not certifiable. It does not cover the mapping frameworks imposed in certain regulated sectors, nor the occupational risk assessment document, which follows its own rules.
